What are the best Brussels parks to visit? If you are in Brussels city for few days and you would like to get some fresh air. You should go to one of the top parks in Brussels, the Parc du Cinquantenaire, the Parc de Laeken or the Parc de Woluwe. There are also others beautiful parks.
The Parc du Cinquantenaire or Jubelpark is my favorite park in Brussels. This park is not like the others parks. Located in the European Quarter, there are many great museums inside the Arcades du Cinquantenaire (Royal Museums of Art and History, Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History, AutoWorld Museum). The park is nice with ponds, fountains, statues, green grass, a great place for relaxing or have a picnic. How to come to the Parc du Cinquantenaire? The easiest way is by metro, get off at Merode station.
The park is also a great place for some famous events in Brussels, the 20km of Brussels race starts at the Esplanade du Cinquantenaire, Drive-in-movies festival, concerts...
The Parc de Laeken is the most beautiful park in Brussels, wide green grass, amazing flowers beds...What can you see? The Royal Castle of Laeken and the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are ones of the best tourist attractions of Brussels. You can't visit inside the castle and the Greenhouses are only opened for guided tours in April and May.
After a short walk, you will find the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower et le Japanese Art Museum. They are all part of the Museums of the Far East. La Tour Japonaise contains a beaufiful collection of japanese porcelain. Le Pavilion Chinois has a valuable Chinese porcelain export. And the Musee d'Art Japonais displays a large collection of prints.
All museums are opened Tuesdays to Fridays. Free entry every first Wednesday of the month from 1 pm.
Others attractions in Laeken suburb: see the Atonium, the Bruparck (amusement park)
The Parc de Woluwe is located in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre municipality. It is a romantic spot and is quite famous in the summer. The parc is well-known for its huge trees and its large variety of plants. You can watch many birds. It is a enjoyable place for all your family. Main activities: boat rides, mini-golf, restaurant...
