What are the best Hamburg attractions? Hamburg in Germany is one of thefamous cities in Europe and in the world. There are many things to do in Hamburg.

If you arrive by air, the location of Hamburg International Airport is 5 miles of Hamburg City Centre. Going downtown Hamburg is easy with the public transportation. The Hamburg S-Bahn will take you there in 25 minutes.

You don't need a car in Hamburg. If you plan to stay a week-end or only few days, go around Hamburg with the public transport called here the U-Bahn or S-Bahn.

Famous tourist attractions in Hamburg are mainly concentrated in the Center of the city. The best walk tours are the Old town, the Speicherstadt and the Harbour Promenade. Also a Boat tour cannot be missed to visit the Harbor and the canals of Hamburg.

Old Town

The Rathaus is the city hall on the Market Square the Rathausmarkt. It's an impressive construction built in 1886 to 1897. You can go inside the lobby. Guided tours are available in German, English and French. One of the best Hamburg attractions.

The Alster Arcades are very close to the Rathaus. The Alsterarkaden is a famous place for shopping, restaurants and cafes. It was built in 1842 after the fire of the Town Hall. You will enjoy the view of the Alster.

The St Michaelis church, called Michel is the main landmark of Hamburg city. The baroque church is reflected on the skyscraper City Landmark. The crypt is unique with the grave of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.
