Space Needle

The Space Needle is the favourite attraction in Seattle. The tower is located in Seattle Centre, between 5th Avenue North and Broad Street. It was built in 1962.

Take the elevator to the circular observation desk and enjoy one of the best views of the Seattle. If you decide to eat at the Sky City restaurant (top floor of the Needle), you can get to the observation desk for free. There is a great fireworks display for New Year's Eve, one of the best events in Seattle.

In the same area, find the Pacific Science Center (address: 200 Second Ave North) a great place for kids and grown-ups. Permanent exhibits include a robotic dinosaur’s display, a tropical butterfly house and so much more.

Pike Place Market

Seattle colorful Pike Place Market is one of the top Seattle attractions. Stalls of flowers, seafood, fruits and vegetables... In the summer, the place it is a crow die place but don't miss it.

Have fun at the Pike Market. Pike Fish Market was originally known for  fishmongers, throwing fish to their customers. Nowadays they throw a foam fish to the people. Don't miss Rachel, the famous bronze piggy bank located at the corner of Pike place.

Seattle Aquarium

The Seattle Aquarium is near the Pike market, Seattle Aquarium is a must-see. Address: 1483 Alaskan Way, Pier 59. 

Most interesting exhibits:

  • Window On Washington Waters: divers at 10 am, 11:30 pm and 12:15 pm
  • Underwater Dome: fish feeding at 1:30 pm
  • Life of a Drifter: octopus feeding at 12 pm and 4 pm
  • Marine Mammals: talk and feeding at 11;30 am and 2 pm

Seattle Art Museum

Top Seattle attraction: Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is located downtown on First Avenue. 

The Art Museum is exhibiting objects from different cultures. The must seen are: the sculpture, the Exalted Monk Moment of Enlightenment ; the painting Sea Change by Jackson Pollock ; Dancing girl an 11th century sculpture from India.

The Taste restaurant is open from 11 am to 9 pm Wednesday to Saturday. A brunch will be serving on Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Seattle Art Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The entrance is free on first Thursdays of the month. If you need a parking, there is one on Union Street. You can find free public tours at the museum.

Belltown

Belltown is the best neighbourhood to visit in Seattle. Good restaurants, boutiques, bars... The Cherry Street Coffee House, is a famous coffee shop in Seatlle on the 1st avenue.
